Fall Beauty Trends 2015

Eyes: Shadows are ranging from plum, bronze, brown, gray, blue, metallic/shimmer. They rang from soft to bold. Smokey eyes are still in, and eyeliners range from a simple smudged look to double winged, thin liner, even shimmer liner, gold, silver/ gray, deep blue, plum, and bronze are being used. If you do not feel comfortable with your entire lid having a shimmer eyeliner, then just add a touch of shimmer liner to the inner corner of the eye.  Silver shimmer has also been seen on the tips of lashes for a droplet effect.

Face: Peach, and rose colored blushes are being used this season to represent the look of being out in the cold.

Lips: Red seems to be big for Fall of 2015.  Orange, plum, berry, wine, rich browns, even black (vampire/gothic) shades are also being used. If you aren't comfortable with the deep shades, you can wear them softer by blotting them, or wearing a lip stain.

Hair: Long sleek side ponytails, tight chignons, sleek buns, soft waves, even hair that looks slept in.  Accessories: Jeweled pieces, and shimmer are being used in the hair this season, and wide headbands.

Nails: Shimmer/glitter, and metallic nail polishes, are in style this Fall. Also dark nail polish, deep green, maroon, red, berry, wine, blue, and black are being used alone, or with lighter colors on top as brush strokes, or even thin lines.

Spring/Summer Beauty Trends for 2015

This spring/summer has a minimal look for makeup. For a lighter look of foundation, you can try a tinted moisturizer. If you need more coverage, you can try applying your foundation with a slightly damp sponge, and then use a stippling motion (tapping the sponge directly over problem areas) where you need that extra coverage.

Neutral shadows are being used on eyes, and heavier smokey eyes have been seen.

Liners are thicker, and bolder, if you dare. The colors vary from deep black, to bright blues, orange, etc.

Mascara is being done in different colors, black, bright blues, etc. The 60's look is also in.

Lip colors are ranging from soft pinks for the bitten look, to bold colors.

Hair: Women are wearing their hair longer, in different knot styles, varying from all of the hair pulling into a knot, to half up with a small knot.  Sleek, wet hair, and also loose waves, and big bouncy curls are in. They are being called bombshell blowouts.  Ponytails are being worn much looser, and lower. Hair is also being worn in braids, and twists, and in different styles of buns.

Argan Oil

You may have noticed that lately there are many products out  there that have added argan oil as an ingredient.  For those of you who don't know, argan oil is an oil that is derived from a kernel tree found in Morocco. It's primary use is for food, and is healthy for the heart, it can prevent various cancers, and obesity. Studies have shown that replacing butter with argan oil can reduce harmful levels of cholesterol,  and triglycerides in the blood. It is similar to olive oil.

Argan oil  contains vitamin E, phenols, squalene, and  fatty acids.  For food consumption, argan oil is roasted, but not for cosmetic purposes.

Moroccans use non roasted argan oil to treat skin diseases, as well as an oil for both skin, and hair.  It gives hair strength, and shine.  Argan oil is used to treat wrinkled skin, and extremely dry skin.  A great hair mask that repairs dry damaged hair without making it feel greasy is by Agadir.  It is a moisture mask, available at Amazon.com.  For styling,  you can try Nick Chavez Advanced Plump and Thick Thickening Hairspray, which contains argan oil, as well as acacia collagen. It thickens, and hydrates hair, gives it hold, without flaking, or tackiness. It's available at: NickChavezBeverlyHills.Com, or at QVC.com. You can also find all of his other wonderful products on both websites.

Spring/Summer color trends for 2013:

The Spring/Summer color trends for 2013

 Foundation:

Dewey foundation is in.  A variation to that would be a tinted moisturizer, or even an oil free foundation, with a little less powder.

Eyeshadow:

Plums, bold metallics, bright colors, neon shadows, and pastels. A variation for the smokey look is gold smokey shadow. The metallic shadows are being applied as a single color over the entire lid, or with a hint of a softer shadow (similar shade) in the outer creases of the lids. For a variation of the bold metallics, soft shimmer shadows, and nude colors are still in.

Eyeliners:

The eyelines are varying from cat eyes, to super extended liner at the outer corners, with less liner on the inner part of the eye. Also neon liners are popular.

Lashes:

Ranging from super bold, long black lashes, thick lashes without length, to neon colored mascaras.

Cheeks:

Blush is soft pink, and bronze colors, for a variation, mix bronzer with a bright, (not too bright) blush, such as Your Name Brand's mineral blush in Garden. Always be sure to blend downwards with a dry sponge. This helps remove excess color, and softens your look.

Lips:

Lots of neon for the lips. Neon pink is being worn either over the entire lip, or faded at the inner corners, and even blotted excessively. Corals with high shine, rose colored, even semi matte.

Nails:

Ranging from soft pastels, lilacs, corals, peach/pink mixed, shimmer colors. Some are using one shade of polish on all nails, and a bold glitter polish on one nail (on each hand).

Hair:

Soft waves, low ponytails, or a low knot. Also a braided ponytail, or even a simple braid in your hairstyle. For the best styling products that really work, try Beverly Hills Nick Chavez's hair care line. You can find them at:

QVC.com, or at http://nickchavezbeverlyhills.com/ You can see Nick demonstrate his products when he is at QVC, or on Youtube.com.

Fall Makeup Color Trends 2012

This Fall, the makeup color trends are ranging from soft to bold. Eyeshadows are stronger shades of blue, and green with gold, or silver mixed in, bluish purple, and gray/silver. Plum shadows are still trending. You can try Prestige's Two to Tango. These shadows are plum on one side, and silver on the other.  You can also mix gold shadows, such as Prestige's Sugar Daddy with this shade. Apply the Sugar Daddy first over the lid, then mix a touch of light purple, and the Two to Tango. Brown shadows are being used as an alternative to the bold blues. They are being mixed with gold shadows.

Eyeliners are thicker this season, and some are even wearing eyeliner as "wing" style.  As an alternative, I would extend the liner outward slightly.

Mascaras this season are all about volume. There are many outstanding brands available. One that I like is L'Oreal True Match Natural. It really makes the lashes stand out, and there is no petroleum/paraffin/mineral oil.

Faces are looking fresh. My favorite foundations are from Your Name Pro. You can find them at some beauty supply stores, and salons. I also love the foundations by Dior, which you can purchase at department stores, or through the Internet. For powder, I love the mineral powder from Jane. Starting January 2013, the Jane line will be returning to stores. They mentioned bringing back previous products. In the meantime, you can purchase their new line at http://www.janecosmetics.com/ and for  more info on the store launching, and where you can ask about products that you would like to see in the stores, you can go to http://www.facebook.com/JaneCosmetics

Blush: Bronzer, and blush are being mixed. I like using Sunflower by Prestige in Sunkissed with Your Name Pro's Mineral Blush in Garden. The Your Name Pro products have high pigmentation, so you just need a small amount. Always be sure to blend your makeup for a natural clean look.

Lips: Lip colors this Fall are bold wines, deep browns, and dark plum shades. You can also wear your lip color as a lip stain, lipstick layered with gloss, or use gloss on it's own. Bold eye colors with nude lipsticks are still trending as well.

Nails: Black, and burgundy on the tips. Bright blues, teal, olive tones, gray, plum, gold, red (rust), burnt orange, green, blue with green, browns, metallic, shimmer, berry, and silver polishes are being used over the entire nail.

Blending Techniques

Blending makeup properly is an important step to achieving a flawless look.
Blending foundations, powders, bronzers, and blushes can prevent orange lines that can look like you have a mask on. Be sure to blend each of the products that you are wearing. Start by applying product in a well lit area. (Daylight is best, but if it's later on in the evening hours, try a well lit area). You can use the back of a foundation sponge (or a separate clean sponge) and using a light hand sweep the sponge upward over the forehead into the hairline. Next you can gently sweep the sponge across cheeks, outward toward the ears, and downward to the neckline. This will soften any makeup lines, helping you look more natural. If you feel that your colors are a bit strong, you can continue blending, this time using a little more pressure, until you have reached the desired look.
Blending eyeshadows are quite simple. You should always tap out any excess color before applying to the eye area, and after applying darker colors, you can take a clean brush that is soft, but firm, and lightly blend the outer lines of the shadow, and lightly blend the inner shadow. If you get shadow in an area that you don't want it, try wiping it with a Q-Tip to remove. For stubborn shadows, you can dip Q-Tip in makeup remover, and use a sponge to blend a small amount of foundation if necessary.
To blend lip color with pencil, try using a brush to go over pencil lines. If you want to fix lipstick smudges, just use a sponge, and apply a small amount of foundation, or concealor to the area, and blend.
